Spot sound leaks before you redesign the build
WhisperRoom uses the Sorama CAM iV64 to speed up R&D and improve sound isolation quality
Introduction
Designing sound isolation booths where every detail affects performance
WhisperRoom designs and manufactures sound isolation booths in Knoxville, Tennessee. They ship the booths flat-packed, and customers assemble them on site. That makes every door, panel, and connection point matter.
The Sorama CAM iV64 helps streamline our R&D process. We can now easily test new ideas to see if they will work before we put too much time into it.

The challenge
Knowing which assembly improvements actually matter
WhisperRoom keeps looking for ways to make their booths easier to assemble and better at isolating sound. But they faced a practical problem. Small changes in seals, joints, and connection points can have a big impact, and basic decibel tests do not show where sound leaks through.
You can measure how much sound is reduced overall and still miss a small leak at the edge of a door or where panels join. Without being able to see the leak location, R&D turns into slow iteration and wasted effort.
The approach
Make leaks visible with the Sorama CAM iV64
WhisperRoom brought the Sorama CAM iV64 sound camera into their R&D workflow as a fast way to evaluate designs and connection points.
They point the sound camera at the area they are developing and get immediate visual feedback on what works better. That lets them test theories early, compare “before vs after,” and decide which ideas deserve more engineering time.
They also combine the Sorama CAM iV64 with their existing decibel and frequency testing. The traditional test provides the overall level, and the sound camera highlights where the weak point sits inside the enclosure.
Implementation stayed simple. They took the Sorama CAM iV64 out of the box and started using it right away.

The results
Less wasted R&D time, better product quality
The Sorama CAM iV64 helped WhisperRoom avoid spending time on improvements that did not move the needle. It also helped them catch small leaks that standard tests would not pinpoint, which supports more consistent product quality.
Beyond R&D, the team also saw value for future work. They mentioned using the sound camera to support compliance processes for international markets, and to create clear marketing visuals that show how sound leaks through doors and connections, and how their booths prevent it.
